Kelly describes herself as “Northern by birth, but Southern by heart” and Shaun is a good ole’ Kentucky kid! Who knew they’d meet in the Holy City of Charleston?! The two met back in January of 2011 after Kelly had moved from Connecticut down to Charleston, a goal she’d had for years! It’s crazy how one decision can change your whole life, right?! Shaun is on on-shore-duty here in Charleston but spent 5 YEARS living and working on a submarine, which took him all around the world! Wow! Kelly is an absolute dream to work with! She has such great vision, resourcefulness, and organization and I have no doubt their Old Wide Awake Plantation wedding this April is going to be beyond stunning! We started their session on The Battery downtown to commemorate their time living in Charleston and then headed to the Marina for some shots amongst the sailboats, since sailing is one of their favorite hobbies!
… and for all you girls out there looking to see how a Navy fiancé plans a wedding, Kelly is a Southern Bride Blogger! Check out her adorable wedding blog,
Sweet Tea Lemonade!
Congratulations you two! We are beyond excited for your Old Wide Awake Plantation Wedding this April and are so happy that your newest orders are taking you to your new home in Hawaii! It doesn’t get much better than that!
